Savage Completes Sale of Inland Tank Barge Fleet to Kirby Corporation

Savage has completed the sale of our inland tank barge fleet, consisting of 90 inland tank barges and 46 inland towboats, to Kirby Corporation along with other assets. This transaction provides increased flexibility to grow our business in alignment with our strategy, values, and ongoing commitment to safe, reliable and responsible operations.

Our offshore marine business and shore side services for some existing Customers, including dock operations, management, and logistics, will continue and are unaffected by this transaction.

We’re grateful to the inland marine Team Members we’ve had the opportunity to work with and wish them well as a part of Kirby’s inland marine team. We also appreciate Mike Ellis for his leadership of our Marine Group over the past three years and his service as a member of our Senior Leadership Team.
