Savage’s Bakken Petroleum Services Hub Honored as Terminal of the Year
Savage Terminal in Trenton, ND Recognized as Rocky Mountain Winner by The Oil & Gas Awards
Salt Lake City, Utah – Mar. 20, 2013 – Savage is pleased to announce that its Bakken Petroleum Services Hub in Trenton, ND has been chosen as Terminal of the Year for the Rocky Mountain Region, by The Oil & Gas Awards. The Oil & Gas Awards showcase the outstanding achievements made within the upstream and midstream sectors of the oil and gas industry. The awards are a platform for the industry to recognize the advances made in the key areas of environmental stewardship, efficiency, innovation, corporate social responsibility and health and safety.
Savage was named winner of Terminal of the Year for achieving a superior health and safety record, demonstrating the ability to overcome complex logistical challenges and implementing new technology. Savage completed the Bakken Petroleum Services Hub in Trenton, ND in August of 2012. This terminal has direct connection to BNSF Railway’s main line track for convenient crude by rail transportation. The terminal is strategically located to gather crude oil from the Williston Basin and Bakken Shale and facilitate the transport of crude to key refinery markets. The terminal provides the oil industry with inbound gathering access through truck receiving stations, pipeline connections and crude oil tankage. Outbound delivery of crude oil is served by a double loop track capable of holding two unit trains.
“We are honored to be recognized by our industry peers for our efforts in the Bakken,” said Nathan Savage, Senior Vice President of Savage’s Oil and Gas Solutions Group. “As crude production in North America continues to increase, our terminal in Trenton offers much needed crude-by-rail services to maximize the options producers have to get crude to market.”
The terminal began transloading crude, from truck to rail, on a manifest basis in early 2012. When construction was completed in August 2012, the Savage terminal in Trenton began to load unit trains on a 24 hour per day basis. The Savage Bakken Petroleum Services Hub is served by BNSF, which enables the flexibility to deliver crude to East Coast, West Coast and Gulf Coast markets.
