Savage’s rail port in Mossville, LA is positioned to help alleviate industrial supply chain woes. Under construction since April, the yard’s first phase was completed October 5, with the second phase to be complete early this month.

The facility has 600 railcar storage spots, provides access to Mexico on Kansas City Southern rail lines, and is uniquely designed to allow Customers to “forward position” their railcars to be a moment’s notice away from their site.

“Our engineers design a project from an operator’s standpoint, working with the railroad and customer in looking for a better way to build the facility,” Savage VP of Business Development Mike Miller said. “That helps us understand how they want their product moved and the time it takes to move it, and the operational plan around that.”
