SALT LAKE CITY (MARCH 11, 2024) – Savage, a global provider of supply chain infrastructure and solutions, has expanded its Savage Transload Network into the Pacific Northwest by acquiring the transloading business of Cascade Warehouse Company (CWC), a fourth-generation, full-service distribution company. CWC handles over 3,000 railcars annually and operates premiere transload and warehousing centers in Salem, OR, Junction City, OR and Chehalis, WA.
“We’re excited to integrate Cascade Warehouse Company’s operations into our Savage Transload Network, which includes the operation of more than 50 transload terminals across North America,” said Jason Ray, President of Savage’s Infrastructure Sector. “We’re also pleased to welcome 24 new Team Members in Oregon and Washington, and we look forward to working together to provide Customers with increased interconnectivity for shipping commodities to and from the Pacific Northwest.”
Cascade Warehouse Company was founded in 1958, and has established strong Customer relationships and operational expertise over its 66 years in business. Historically a lumber transloader, CWC offers multi-commodity transloading, lumber cutting and packaging, and storage solutions for building and industrial products, consumer goods and packaging materials.
Access to the Savage Transload Network will strengthen supply chains for transporting needed commodities to the Pacific Northwest. It also provides opportunities to connect origin forest-product shippers with destinations across North America where Savage operates transload terminals. With established transload relationships spanning decades, Savage moves more than 22.8 million tons of products and loads over 525,000 truckloads annually at the transload terminals it operates.
